Snapmaker is going all out for its eighth anniversary, announcing the launch of a new 3-in-1 3D printer, a 48-hour “Makerathon”, free stuff, and other events and activities that fall under the theme “Play Well”.
Headlining the celebration is the 3-in-1 Snapmaker Artisan Premium: an “upgraded version” of the Snapmaker Artisan and the OEM’s largest machine yet, with a 400 x 400 x 400 mm workspace and a full enclosure. It functions as a dual-extrusion 3D printer, 200 W CNC machine, and 40 W laser cutter.
Snapmaker says the Artisan Premium’s modular design allows users to switch between functionalities in as quickly as one minute. Preorders open today at $2,999, Snapmaker says in a press release, with full specs available on Snapmaker’s website.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. Snapmaker will host a company-wide “Makerathon” from May 31 to June 1, during which Snapmaker employees will compete to create “playful and functional items” like games, sports equipment, or toys. The event will be livestreamed on Snapmaker’s Facebook page.
While many may only be spectators for that event, there are more ways Snapmaker fans can get involved. Snapmaker’s “Print and Play Challenge” is currently active until June 16. Users who enter should print “something you can play with” and film themselves playing with it. Three winners will receive $888 and other goodies, with full rules outlined on the contest’s landing page.
Additionally, Snapmaker has announced The Snappy Club, a membership rewards program in which users earn “Snaps”, which they can redeem on the Snapmaker store to earn discounts or free stuff.
The anniversary celebration also sees discounts, a referral program bonus, and printable models of Snapmaker’s machines, all of which will be available via Snapmaker’s website.
