You heard it here first, Sovol is launching a larger version of the SV06, dubbed the SV06 Plus, this month. We have all the juicy details, including price and specs, here for you.

Like the SV06, the Plus features a print head with a planetary gear extruder. Since it is an all-metal direct extruder, it will be capable of handling temperatures of up to 300 °C, which will give it a good range of materials to work with. We don’t know if Sovol has solved the TPU issues we experienced during the SV06 review yet, but let’s hope it has.

The build volume is an impressive 300 x 300 x 340 mm, much larger than the 220 x 220 x 250 mm the SV06 has. It has done away with the knob-driven screen and installed a brand-new color touchscreen. The Plus will also include a filament sensor that was missing in the original.

Sovol claims to have improved the printing speed as well, and the manual recommends a printing speed of 150 mm/s. We will see how that holds up in practice. The heated bed has also been reworked, and Sovol claims it will heat faster than before, with a total power of 500W applied to it.

Other things included in the SV06 Plus are the induction-based 25-point auto leveling, PEI build plate, Dual Z-axis screws, and a resume print function.

The Sovol SV06 will retail at $399. However, the company says it will be available for pre-sale at 11:59 am EST on February 20th at a discounted price of $299 for the first 300 units sold and $329 for the next 500 units. Though, we would take this launch date and time with a pinch of salt because the original launch was to happen on Valentine’s day. We guess Sovol was not feeling the love and decided to shift the launch date.
