Rated as flight-qualified for spaceflight by the boffins at NASA, Casio’s G-Shock DW5600E is a tank of a watch that has passed from uncool dad-accessory to vogueish tool of the understatedly stylish. A transition it’s handled without sacrificing its legendary toughness, to boot.

We can think of no finer timepiece to survive the most rigorous of workshop conditions. That, and the battery lasts for years, it looks great and is relatively cheap, too.
