In what could surely be described as an April Fool’s Day prank on the loose, Prusa Research brought one of its freshly unveiled Core One 3D printers clad in bamboo to Formnext, complete with a potted, bamboo-esque plant scenically placed on top.

To the company’s credit (and commitment to the bit) there are neat functional touches like an accessories drawer and invisible doors for the filament bays. A bamboo accented control panel and physical switch complete the retrofuturistic-scandi-vibe.

It’s a living room concept cover for what is undoubtedly a jab to say they had the only new bamboo 3D printer at the show. A splash page on the Prusa site invites you to share your thoughts on the concept, but c’mon.
