Tiertime’s Cetus2 3D printer has officially released under the company’s Cetus3D brand. Launched last year on Kickstarter, the OEM’s latest offering features on-the-fly material switching via an extruder that enables users to avoid purge towers or pauses in printing – and can combine two different materials in the same model to achieve unique color blends.
The Cetus2 boasts a 200 x 300 x 300 mm build area, power failure recovery, Wi-Fi connectivity as well as USB and microSD, Tiertime’s own UP Studio 3 slicing software, and native G-code support. There’s also a built-in filament detection module, a touchscreen interface, and fully automatic leveling and Z-level calibration.
Word is still out as to the Cetus2’s real-life performance, although the curious probably won’t have long to wait – a note on the 3D printer’s Kickstarter page states that backers’ orders have already shipped and begun to be delivered.
Eager to see for yourself? The Cetus2 is now available on Tiertime’s online store for $599. For full specs, more information, plus videos and GIFs of the printer in action, visit the Cetus2’s product page.
