Ultimaker’s Cura is the world’s most popular open-source 3D slicer, preparing over two million print jobs per week. The latest version of the free slicer has some exciting new features in store - read on to learn more.
The Dutch 3D printer manufacturer Ultimaker has released version 4.6 of its 3D software Cura.
The update can be downloaded from the official Ultimaker website. One of the most interesting changes is Cura now includes engineering Intent profiles to expand the Ultimaker material portfolio to PC, nylon, CPE, and CPE+. The new profiles are compatible with Ultimaker’s 0.4 mm Print Cores.

But there are more new features in store. Below are the other most important features Cura 4.6 includes, some of them stemming from the open-source community.

Alongside some bug fixes, Ultimaker also added new third-party printer profiles.
