Following the recent release of the Ultimaker S5 3D printer, the Dutch 3D printer manufacturer Ultimaker is now expanding its reach upon the global market. This week, Ultimaker announced that it is opening new offices in Singapore to better position itself to serve the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

The new offices have been opened to help the company meet the growing demand for Ultimaker 3D printers throughout the region. As the professional 3D printing market gains more prominence on the market in Asia, Ultimaker is hoping to increase its presence and expand activities in the APAC region.

“We see a growing demand for Ultimaker 3D printers in the APAC region from similar enterprise clients and innovative SMEs. By opening office facilities in Singapore, we can better manage these demands locally, and support our well-established APAC Sales Partner Network in taking the next step in accelerating the world’s transition to local digital manufacturing,” says Jos Burger, CEO of Ultimaker.

Benjamin Tan Appointed as Vice President APAC at Ultimaker

To help lead this operation, Ultimaker has appointed Benjamin Tan, former Channel Director at Dassault Systèmes, as Vice President Asia Pacific at Ultimaker in Singapore. In this role, Tan will attempt to connect various industries and clients in the APAC region with Ultimaker’s professional-grade desktop 3D printers.

“We will leverage our business development efforts to target AP multinationals, and work closely with them to improve the supply chain. It is not only the perfect alignment between accessible and reliable hardware, software, and materials that distinguishes Ultimaker from all of its competitors. The open, innovative spirit of its employees and strong Sales Partner Network has also contributed in bringing the company to its global leading position. I am very happy to be part of this team,” Tan stated.

Ultimaker’s refined focus on the global market comes just a few months after the company revealed the Ultimaker S5, an upgrade over the flagship Ultimaker 3 in build volume, user accessibility and overall printing performance. The Dutch manufacturer has also partnered with a wide range of leading chemical companies to develop more advanced 3D printing materials.

Now, with Ultimaker opening new offices in Singapore and bringing the experience of Benjamin Tan onboard, it’s a telltale sign that the company is striving to place a greater emphasis on both the APAC region, and the global market as a whole.
