When a maker begins to ponder innovative ideas for their next awe-inspiring project, they do so with form and function on the top of their minds. There’s more to it than simply how a model or object looks. One must also consider how their project interacts with its surrounding environment and moves throughout the physical world.

If these are the kind of ideas that keep you up at night, then we have just the contest for you. The Movieit 3DP Show is an online competition that challenges makers to develop an original movable model and showcase it in motion.

The contest was launched in a collaborative fashion by two pioneers on the consumer 3D printing front: Elegoo and Snapmaker. Elegoo has become a staple manufacturer for affordable LCD 3D printing machines, such as the popular Elegoo Mars 2 Pro. Snapmaker is another up-and-coming company known for its all-in-one 3D printers that also function as a CNC mill and laser engraver – the latest model being All3DP’s Value Pick: the Snapmaker 2.0.

Together, Elegoo and Snapmaker are inspiring makers across the world to set their minds in motion and create a movable model. The MoveIt 3DP Show is open to all interested participants. All you need is an idea and the tools to bring that idea to life. The contest is already underway, but submissions are being accepted until July 26, 2021.

What is the MoveIt 3DP Show Contest?

The MoveIt 3DP Show is a contest that celebrates dynamic design and the global maker community. Focusing on functionality and aesthetics, this social media campaign provides a large platform for makers to showcase their capabilities on the competitive stage.

Although Elegoo and Snapmaker specialize in 3D printing technology, the competition asks participants to utilize whatever tools they have at their disposal to create a movable model. That means no limitations to materials or methods, the only requirement is that the object is a moveable work.

The idea behind the MoveIt 3DP Show is to inspire makers to utilize the full scope of their imagination and ability to transform ideas into physical creations.

How to Enter the Contest

You don’t need to be an Elegoo or Snapmaker user to partake in the competition. In fact, it’s open for all makers to enter. If you’re feeling up to the challenge of creating a movable model, you should enter the MoveIt 3DP Show contest prior to the deadline on July 26, 2021.

Here’s how you enter…The first step is to create a unique and innovative movable object. There are absolutely no restrictions on how the model is made or what materials can be used, so be prepared to think outside of the box.

After the movable model is created, record a video of the work to showcase the motion. The video must be longer than 10 seconds to qualify for the contest. Feel free to add a theme or story to the video to really drive home the uniqueness of your model.

Finally, post a photo of the model and the video on one of your social media accounts with the hashtag #MoveIt3DPShow and mention Elegoo and Snapmaker in the post. You can share your submission on the following social media platforms:

Instagram: Post your picture and video with the #MoveIt3DPShow and tag @elegoo and @snapmakerinc
