We’re big fans of the Lulzbot Taz 6 — giving it an 8/10 in our in-depth review. It’s big, completely open source and reliably churns out print after print. What’s not to love.
Well, taking that love and turning it into some big cuddly dual extrusion beast is MatterHackers and its Platinum Edition of the machine. Coming as an unassembled bundle, the Platinum Edition includes the base Lulzbot Taz 6 3D printer, the Lulzbot Dualstruder V3 print head and the Taz modular print bed with glass/PEI sheet (which separates the print surface from the heating element of the bed completely!).
In all it sums up to a dual extruding machine with a little futureproofing and ease of use baked in to it’s heated bed. As mentioned (but worth saying again) the elements of the bundle do not ship assembled, meaning some work on your part to get the Lulzbot Taz 6 Dual Platinum Edition running as intended.
