Next week, Dusseldorf plays host to Euromold 2015. ALL3DP tells you what to expect from the biggest additive manufacturing event in Europe.

Euromold 2015 will take place September 22-25, 2015 at the exhibition Center in Düsseldorf, Germany. All the major players in industrial 3D printing will be in attendance, including 3D Systems, Hewlett-Packard, and Autodesk.

Key events at the show will be a Rapid 3D Printing Fashion Show, a special Design + Engineering Forum, and The International Conference on 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing.

The International Conference will revolve around the themes “Global Visions of the Future” and “Shaping the Future of 3D Globally”. Bringing together key industry experts and thought leaders from around the world, they’ll be discussing the most interesting developments and trends in their regions, and share their visions of the future for the rapidly growing additive manufacturing industry.

Additive Manufacturing x Generative Design = Another Manufacturing Revolution / Jeff Kowalski, senior vice president, CTO, Autodesk

Summary: We all know that additive manufacturing/3D printing is revolutionizing manufacturing. And now a new, emerging disruption—generative design—is accelerating that revolution. As we move from “telling the computer what to do” to “telling the computer what we want to do,” we’re seeing design solutions that were never possible before, and that will fundamentally change the way the world imagines, designs, and creates.

Medical Additive Manufacturing: A New Era! / Professor Dr. Jules Poukens, Cranio-maxillofacial surgeon, University of Hasselt and Leuven

Summary: The use of additive manufacturing/3D printed implants for serious, complex, and potentially life- threatening or life-limiting medical conditions is growing. The combination of 3D imaging tools, software, and 3D printing/additive manufacturing has enabled production of patient-specific implants, devices, and prosthesis for more predictable custom patient care. Clinical cases where 3D printing has been used including skull and jaw implants, dental structures and bioprinting will be explored.

Informing the Future of 3D Printing by Looking at 2D’s Past / Stephen Nigro, Senior Vice President of Hewlett-Packard

Summary: The presentation will look at significant innovations in the 2D market and identify major milestones that allowed for dramatic market expansion. Leveraging these milestones, the presentation will discuss the key areas of innovation that will drive expansion of the 3D printing market.

Bringing Additive Manufacturing To Space / Jason Dunn, CTO, Made In Space

Summary: In 2014, Made In Space placed the first 3D printer on the International Space Station (ISS) as a demonstration of the possibilities of on-site, on-demand manufacturing in space. A follow on, permanent additive manufacturing facility will be installed on ISS in 2015. Enabling the ISS with commercially available hardware will change the way space mission planning is handled, while simultaneously opening up faster, cheaper hardware development for businesses, individuals and researchers on Earth.
