Occasionally, practicability, creativity, and a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek humor combine to give us something we’ve never seen before (or even thought of) but which we now can’t live without.
At Thingiverse.com, maker LoboCNC (a.k.a. Jeff Kerr) hit the nail on the head with his 3D printed Frankenstein Light Switch Plate. Mr. Kerr designed a switch plate that, from appearances, goes over any standard wall switch and presents the appearance of those antique knife switches made famous by pretty much every mad scientist in history. The nice thing is, Mr. Kerr’s creation won’t kill everyone you love and drive you crazy like the eponymous monster of literary fame.
What a great way to add some character to your home office, workshop, or Halloween party.
Mr. Kerr has even designed double plates, triple plates, and plates for paddle-style switches.
You can download plans from Thingiverse and print one for yourself or upload to Sculpteo or Shapeways and have them print it for you.
