This week American online retailer Monoprice announced upgrades to its line of 3D printers at CES 2107 in Las Vegas.

With an unparalleled feature set and quality in its price range, the Monoprice Select Mini has become a bestseller among 3D printing hobbyists (review here). This year, it will receive its much-anticipated update.

Following this success, the company is now pushing into the professional 3D printer market with the addition of its first SLA printer and a commercial FDM printer. The third addition is a new low-entry FDM printer.

Unfortunately, there were no images of the printers released – we’ll keep you updated as soon as we get the information.

New Monoprice 3D Printer #1: MP Delta Mini

With the release of the Select Mini, Monoprice offered an entry level 3D printer with some interesting features at a very attractive price of under $200. This year the manufacturer will beat its own price with the launch of the Delta Mini. This FDM printer is ready to print straigt out of the box, so you won’t have to assemble parts. It will sell at a stunning $149.99 and features an adjustable temperature hot end, a full-color LCD screen, a heated print and it is WIFI enabled – you won’t find this wealth of functionality among other 3D printers in this price range.

  • Filament: All FDM filament types (ABS, PLA, PET etc.)
  • Technology: FDM
  • Heated Bed: Yes
  • Connectivity: USB, MicroSD Card, WiFi
  • Market price: $149.99
  • Suitable for beginning 3D printer hobbyists looking for a low-cost, easy entry machine.

New Monoprice 3D Printer #2: MP Select Mini v2

Monoprice also announced an upgraded version of its best-selling 3D printer, the Select Mini. Version 2 comes fully calibrated and is – according to the press release – ready to print. The undisputed highlight is the heated print bed, an item you will hardly find in other 3D printers in this price range. Monoprice promises “community inspired upgrades” and the enclosed microSD card is preloaded with printable 3D models. Hopefully, they replace the notoriously shaky power supply.

  • Filament: All FDM filament types (ABS, PLA, PET etc.)
  • Technology: FDM Build Volume: 120 x 120 x 120 mm
  • Heated Bed: Yes
  • Connectivity: USB, MicroSD Card

New Monoprice 3D Printer #3: MP 3 Series Commercial 3D printer

As for commercial and industrial production, Monoprice adds two printers that cover two important segments: The first being commercial prototyping. Monoprice will launch its 3 Series Commercial 3D printer this year. The machine is fully enclosed and boasts a majestic 400 mm x 400 mm build volume.

  • Filament: All FDM filament types (ABS, PLA, PET etc.)
  • Technology: FDM
  • Connectivity: USB, MicroSD Card
  • Heated Bed: Yes
  • Build Volume: 400 mm x 400 mm

New Monoprice 3D Printer #4: MP Maker Prism Professional SLA Resin Printer

Monoprice is also venturing into SLA printing. The “Maker Prism Professional” projects images onto the resin with laser instead of LCDs or DLPs. At 0.03 micron-layer resolution, the Maker Prism Professional can compete with professional SLA printers three times its price. It is capable of highly intricate printing, making it suitable for jewelry and dental products. Clearly, the company will continue to put pressure on professional quality printing competitors like Formlabs in the future.

  • Material: Resin
  • Technology: SLA
  • Highest Resolution: 0.03 microns
  • Market price $3,499.00
