Since its first appearance in the video game Fallout 3, the Pip-Boy 3000 has become known as an essential tool for you everyday survival. Whether you check your stats, choose weapons, or change the music you are listening to, it’s your trusty companion in the wasteland.

If you own a smartwatch in real life, that‘s pretty much the same (okay, maybe not for the weapons and ammo). So why not turn your Moto 360 Android Smartwatch into a great looking Pip-Boy 3000? A Moto Pip-Boy, so to say?

Step 1: Download a Pip-Boy 3000 Watch Face for Moto 360

First, you need a Fallout themed watch-face. You’re lucky, because there are several watch faces available on the Google Play Store.

The Pip-Boy 3000 Watch Face is designed to give your Android Wear device the unmistakable look and feel of the Pip-Boy 3000. The software includes options that let you tweak and tune your watch just to your liking: Analog and digital faces, toggle-able AM/PM indicator, date display, and color schemes. In terms of software, minimum requirements are Android 4.3. 

There are some alternatives. The Pip-Boy Watchface [10 in 1] , Fallout Pip Boy and Droidboy 3000 Zooper are worth checking out. Most of the software gives you a glance at your missed calls, new SMS, Mail, battery statistics, date, weather conditions, and the local time.

Also, the Pip-Boy M3600 (Framed) design at Facerepo gives you 12h time, battery level, charging status, date, phone battery level, phone charging status and eather stats. It can be downloaded here.

Step 2: 3D Print a Custom Moto 360 Pip-Boy Case

So the screen of your watch looks convincing. But the case doesn’t meet Vault-Tec’s standards yet. This can be improved with a 3D printer.

On Thingiverse you can find STL files for a 3D printed Pip-Boy 3000 for the Motorola Moto 360 Android Smartwatch. It’s not exactly the same as in the game, but it’s close enough.

The “Pip-Boy 3600” was designed by maker pax13. There’s also an older version at Tinkercad. You should consider painting it the way you like.

Alternatively, a great option would be glow-in-the-dark filament for those late hours when the feral ghouls come out to play.
