Benchy, the popular 3D printer torture test, gets a LEGO makeover. Download it for free, print it and start building!
There are many 3D printer torture test, but none of them is as jolly as the Benchy. Pretty much everyone who tests his 3D printer, settings or new materials, prints this test STL file. Ever since it came out in 2015, Benchy became a sort of iconic symbol for 3D printing in general.
And now, Benchy gets a LEGO makeover.
The Benchy-LEGO thing started on reddit. User hartk1213 combined a 3DBenchy with the commonly used LEGO 2 by 8 brick. He then published some pictures on his Imgur-account (see below).
Now, the makers of Benchy took that design and, inspired by hartk1213, added a few LEGO connections in their new design.
So, if you want to spice up your LEGO collection, two new STL files are now available and can be downloaded from this link. If you don’t own a 3D printer, have the parts printed by a professional 3D printing service. You’ll get the best price here.
