Raise3D is appointing Diogo Quental to be their new CEO, starting January. His expertise is expected to scale up the company’s operation.
Raise3D, manufacturer of FFF 3D printers, has announced they will have a new CEO in the new year: None other than Diogo Quental.
Current CEO and co-founder Edward Feng will step aside in order to coordinate the newly created “Strategic Committee”. The change will be effective from January 1, 2018.
“This is the perfect time for Raise3D to do this change,” said Feng. “We are proud for what we achieved so far with the current level of organization, but we needed a different type of governance to scale up the full operation… Our decision was to make a clear separation between the on-going operation that will be managed by Diogo, and the strategic direction of the company, which will be coordinated by me.”
Raise3D specializes in 3D printing solutions for corporate users and has headquarters in California, Rotterdam, and Shanghai. Quental fits the bill as global CEO, with 25 years of experience of working in different countries. Not to mention in building businesses.
Quental studied business administration at ISAG-European Business School and has an MBA from INSEAD. Outside academia, he has worked in the 3D printing industry since 2011.
“Despite having joined Raise3D only a few months ago, the experience of belonging to this team is one of the most rewarding I ever had,” said Quental. “Three global offices, in 3 very different cultures, with amazingly talented teams contribute to the goal of raising the standards… I am very honored with this new position and I do feel the responsibility of it. But I also know that there’s a long road of improvements ahead and that more comprehensive solutions still have to be offered to Corporate Customers.”
While Quental makes the transition into his new role, Feng will be on hand for support. As the head of strategy coordination, he’ll be spread a little thin, working with both partners and investors.
The company’s overall aim is to scale up the company on a global level and find support from partners. In fact, the aim of having three headquarters in different countries is to offer the best approach to local markets through proximity.
Raise3D’s printers include the N1, N2, and N2 Plus. You can find out more about the company, their machines, and the ideaMaker slicer software on their website. We wish Quental the best of luck!
