Red Bull to race on a 3D printed power train.

Ford will return to Formula 1 in 2026 as Red Bull’s technical partner for powertrains with 3D printed parts compliant with the sport's new technical regulations. Ford says it will print parts for the drive train that can't be made using traditional manufacturing. The company has already 3D printed about 1,000 parts for Red Bull. "Everything is aerospace level, every part is life or death," says Ford's powertrain engineering manager Christian Hertrich in a gripping new promotional video from Ford showcasing its use of metal laser powder bed fusion for critical parts.

Well, 35-percenters, it's here. Along with the review embargo lifting on Friday afternoon (did you read our first impressions, yet?) Prusa Research started pre-orders for the Core One kit, with shipping due to begin in March.

Want a ride? Sorry, only room for one.

It's a good bet that any futuristic and stunning-looking new vehicle has 3D printed parts. Renault says metal 3D printing with Scalmalloy, a high-strength aluminum specially designed for 3D printing, was the only way to manufacture the complex, gaming controller-like steering wheel (below) inside the new Filante Record 2025 demonstration EV. The 3D printing process ensured extreme precision while reducing the overall weight of the vehicle to below 1,000 kg and minimizing material waste, the carmaker said.

AnkerMake'n Me Sad
AnkerMake (remember them?) has discontinued the M5C 3D printer.

An email confirming the news to All3DP cites "product line optimization" and adjustments to its sales strategy as the reasons AnkerMake, the creative tech arm of Anker, has put this headless high-speed 3D printer out to pasture. It's not much of a stretch to imagine it was clobbered by the rise of Bambu Lab and Creality shoring up its Ender series.

M5C owners needn't despair, though. We're told that customer support and technical services for the machine remain in place.

Urban Pru-ture
All3DP doesn’t do merch, but if we did, we’d want it to look something like this.

Prusa Research's merch collab with urban backpack brand and virtual next-door neighbors, Braasi, is a bag with infill pattern lining and Prusa's instantly recognizable black and orange colorway. For a cool $219, it's a low-key, limited-edition way to show off your thing for 3D printing. We'll take a dozen.
