Only through 3D scanning and 3D printing is the National Gallery of Denmark able to offer visitors the chance to see nearly all of Michelangelo’s existing sculptures in one place. The exhibit, “Michelangelo Imperfect,” includes a new set of 3D printed copies made for the show by the Madrid-based studio Factum Arte which used resin 3D printing to create lifesize casts of the artist's work.

May 2, 2025. That's when low-value postal shipments to the U.S. from China will no longer be exempt from duties.

Following February's short-lived attempt to close the de minimis exemption for low-value shipments crossing the U.S. border, the Trump administration has now fixed a date and new conditions, with 30% of the value (or $25) levied in place of tariffs on specific categories of goods from China travelling through the postal system.

Much of what we covered in our article explaining the imminent impact of this on consumer 3D printing still rings true, though the calculation has changed somewhat. We'll cover the topic with what we now know in more detail soon.

The U.S. Territory of Guam, strategically located in the western Pacific, will become the Navy's new repair shop, according to Pacific Daily News. A new metal 3D printing facility will take a few years to get up and running, but when fully equipt, will serve the 200-ship U.S. Pacific Fleet.
