Since its first appearance in the video game Fallout 3, the Pip-Boy 3000 has become known as an essential tool for your everyday survival. Whether you check your stats, choose weapons, or change the radio station, it’s your trusty companion to the wasteland.

If you own a smartwatch in real life, that‘s pretty much the same. So why not turn an LG G W100 Smartwatch into a great looking Fallout smartwatch? Here’s everything you need to know.

Step 1: LG G Smartwatch? Check!

Obviously, first you need the LG G W100 smartwatch to turn it into your Fallout smartwatch. The watch came out in 2014, it runs Android Wear, has a nice backlight display and just weighs 63 grams. Even if there are newer models around, it‘s still one helluva smartwatch. Also, price has dropped significantly since it came out.

Step 2: Get a Pip-Boy Watch Face for Your LG G Watch

Second, you need a Fallout themed watch face. Luckily, there are some Pip-Boy themed watch faces at the Facerepo website.

This special design in example shows gives you 12h time, battery level, charging status, date, phone battery level, charging status and weather info. It is compatible with G Watch, Gear Live and SmartWatch 3.

As an alternative, you can try the Pip-Boy Fallout LG G watch, which only differs in a few minor stats.

Step 3: 3D Print a Custom Fallout Case For the LG G Smartwatch

So the screen of your watch already looks convincing. But the case doesn’t meet Vault-Tec’s standards yet. This can be improved with a 3D printer. On Thingiverse, you can find STL files for a 3D printed Pip-Boy 3000 for your Android Smartwatch. They are not exactly the same as in the game, but they are fun anyway.

This Pipboy3000 mod for LG G Watch was designed by maker Seifer Teve. The design is based on an idea from Maker pax13, who also did a Pip-Boy 3000 for the Moto 360 smartwatch.
