3. History

The company was founded in 2012 on the desire to leave a better world (“We’re dreamers, we’re Makers: we start from 3D printing to save the world”). WASProject is focused on developing 3D printing from its roots in the world of open-source development. The WASProject story has a longstanding history from the first machines and technology (called PowerWASP) developed – propelling the brand into the world of digital craft with minimum energy consumption. Since then the company have produced a number of professional 3D printer products.

The revenue from the sale of WASProject printers is invested into the research and development of integrated projects – ultimately aimed towards a production revolution and the creation of 3D printed, clay structures and homes. This research advances hand in hand with eco-friendly, sustainable and functional materials with innovative systems. The projects which have so far been realised by the group are 100% self-financed.

4. Products

The WASProject product offering is varied in scale with a common technology approach to 3D printing. With a tripod structure surrounding a centrally positioned extruder, this fast, economical and versatile 3D delta printer model is realised in a number of ways.

This impressive structure is a hugely up-scaled version of the smaller Delta model series – and is often constructed outdoors as a demonstration of the 3D printing of buildings using a clay-like material.

This 3D printer is currently not commercially available. All3DP did a report on the Big Dela WASP happening.

Events
