After announcing it back in 2015, the Polish company Zortrax is ready to bring the Inventure 3D printer to the market.
About two years ago, the 3D printing world was introduced to the Zortrax Inventure. However, due to problems with the production, the Polish company decided to go back to the drawing board and better optimize the printer.
Now, after temporarily fading into oblivion, the highly anticipated printer is finally back and ready to hit shelves. Zortrax recently unveiled the new and improved printer at Zortrax Experience Conference, a company-hosted event hosted in Olsztyn, Poland earlier this week.
So, after a lengthy hiatus, what made Zortrax so adamant about repairing and releasing this specific model? Well, if successful, the Inventure could be a major breakthrough for the Polish 3D printer manufacturer.
For starters, the Zortrax Inventure will be able to print with materials at the same time, allowing for the optimal use of support material. To accomplish this, Zortrax is including two separate nozzles
The printer will offer a 135 x 135 x 130 mm build volume and a resolution of 90-200 microns. The Inventure will also include a HEPA filter, eliminating toxins that may result from extruded material.
Zortrax will also include an easy-to-use Dissolvable Support System (DSS). This addition includes a fluid-flow station and DSS Activator that dissolves support material within a few hours. This enables users to produce moving mechanisms in just one print.
As of now, Zortrax has a number of materials that are compatible with the Inventure, including Z-SUPPORT, Z-PLA, and Z-PETG. This proprietary filament cartridges will use a consumption sensor to send information about each material.
The Inventure alone will cost 2699 Euro (~ 3,040 USD), while the package with the DSS station will cost 3148 Euro (~ 3,600 USD). The DSS can also be purchased separately for 529 Euro (~594 USD).
In addition to the release of the Inventure, Zortrax also launched a couple of new materials and an update to its slicer software. Pro-PLA and Z-ASA Pro will both be released for the M200 and M300 3D printers.
Pro-PLA offers a unique matte aesthetic and enhanced surface quality that ensures detailed prints. Z-ASA Pro provides weather-resistant properties, perfect for outdoor applications that endure UV rays, humidity, or heat.
The Zortrax software team is also updating their Z-Suite 2.0 slicer. There are a slew of new features in the slicing software, including an integrated model library, different tabs, the ability to save profile settings, automatic or manual addition of supports, a mesh repair feature, and more.
All in all, the Polish company had a lot to share at the Zortrax Experience Conference. But the star of the show was definitely the highly anticipated Inventure. After a lengthy two year wait, Zortrax will soon see if their long-awaited printer stands the test of time.
