Zortrax’s printing material sales data for 2015 indicates a 350% increase when compared to 2014. This means the department has a huge growing share in Zortrax’s total revenue.

Zortrax, a Polish manufacturer of 3D printers and filaments, is reaching new heights in the sales of its printing materials with a 4.5 fold increase.

Rafał Tomasiak, CEO of Zortrax said:

“This trend has progressed in line with our expectations. Widespread use of our Zortrax M200 printer directly results in an increase in demand for our printing materials. Furthermore, thanks to our constant research and development into new printing substances, we have been able to significantly expand our range of offered materials. This has also positively impacted our sales figures.”

Why is Zortrax Printing Material Selling?

It makes sense that if a printer is selling, the sales of the specific filament will also increase. Often, a common complaint is that many printer manufacturers use only their own filament. This drastically limits your choices if you can only use a company-specific brand in your printer.

However, at it seems that Zortrax is offering a large selection of high-quality materials, meaning people are happy to buy them. The cheapest material being the Z-ABS, which sells for €33.21 for a spool, and the most expensive being Z-PCABS at €84.87.

As well as this, Zortrax has managed to strengthen their position on the US market this February by reaching an agreement with the owners of Media Supply Inc.

The company will be Zortrax’s second distributor in the USA and responsible for the eastern regions of the US while distribution in the country’s western states are handled by 3D ProShare.

Zortrax are also hoping for another significant increase in their printing material sales this year thanks to a noticeable interest in the new Zortrax Inventure printer.

What’s special about this 3D printer is that it is capable of printing with two materials simultaneously – one of which is a completely soluble support material.

Zortrax also claims that they still intend on upholding their plans for the company’s debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2016. However, they say that the exact date of such a move will largely depend on the company’s business requirements and ongoing market conditions, which currently aren’t favorable.

It could be a big year for Zortrax, what do you think about this? Let us know in the comments.
