E3D has released the remaining variants of its ObXidian series of nozzles. The release includes 0.25 mm and 0.8 mm versions of the Revo ObXidian, and the full range of V6 and Volcano ObXidian nozzles.

The ObXidian series, which was first released in November, is aimed at abrasive materials. The nozzles bolster wear resistance by way of a hardened steel insert that is retained in the nozzle’s copper body – which has a similar thermal performance to brass.

E3D’s proprietary E3DLC coating, meanwhile, is designed for extreme hardness and non-stick properties that result in “considerably less build-up around the nozzle”. This reduces the chances of print artifacts and blobs of discolored filament and makes cleaning easier compared to nozzles made of brass.

To learn more about the science behind ObXidian nozzles, check out E3D’s blog post or the ObXidian product page. There, prices range per nozzle type, with V6 and Volcano nozzles going for ~$47.69 (£38.50) and Revo variants for ~$60.08 (£48.50).
