Those planning to make the trek to Shanghai, China, in February for TCT Asia show now have three days free in their calendars. A note was distributed yesterday by VNU Rapid News Ltd, the joint-venture that hosts TCT’s events in China, informing of the decision to delay the TCT Asia show.

Due to be held from February 19 to 21 at Shanghai’s SNIEC, the organizers cited the ongoing situation with the coronavirus, efforts to curb its spread and the desire to protect attendees as the reason for the delay.

The statement explained: “After studying and evaluating the announcements, guidance and news released by relevant national departments and in order to protect the health and safety of our exhibitors and visitors we are sorry to announce that TCT Asia … will be postponed to a later date.”

A revised date for TCT Asia is expected to be announced following the Spring Festival national vacation in early February.

The statement in full can be viewed on the TCT Asia website.
